Jon Millington founding Editor of The Beckford Journal, has written widely on Beckford. He is author of the guide book to Beckford’s Tower, with which he has been associated since it was sold in 1971 by the Church Commissioners. He was on the organising committee for the 1976 William Beckford Exhibition held in Salisbury and Bath and contributed to the catalogue. To mark the 150th anniversary of Beckford’s death he devised the exhibition ‘Souvenirs of Fonthill Abbey’ (Bath 1994) and produced the catalogue. For the Beckford Society he compiled William Beckford and his Circle in the Gentleman’s Magazine (2001). William Beckford: A Bibliography is the result of some forty years of research.
